Match AI tools to the teaching task
Choose a category before choosing a product. One comparison of AI teaching tools makes the central point clearly: different classroom problems need different tools.

If you need both, test the tool responsible for the slower part of your current process rather than adopting two systems at once.

Brisk is a strong starting candidate when your preparation begins with material already open in a browser. Edutopia describes Brisk as a Google Chrome extension that works with web articles, PDFs, YouTube videos, and Google Docs.
That placement can reduce the need to copy material into a separate chatbot and repeatedly explain its context. Brisk also says it can turn an article, video, or topic into structured guided notes.
The Chrome dependency belongs at the front of the decision. If your school does not support Chrome extensions, or blocks unapproved extensions, its other features may not matter. Check installation permissions before investing time in templates or training.
Source-based preparation is also useful when you want a visible connection between an assigned source and the generated material. You can compare questions, notes, or summaries against the original item. That makes review more traceable, but it does not make the result automatically correct.

For that reason, choose a tutoring tool only after inspecting how it responds when a student asks for an answer. The system should fit your learning goal and supervision plan, not simply keep students engaged.
Administrative work also needs a narrower task definition before a product can be selected responsibly. Drafting a non-sensitive template is different from processing student records or preparing a consequential family communication. Define the exact task, the information involved, and who must approve the result before comparing products.
Check access and workflow fit before signing up

For Brisk, Eduaide, and other finalists, check the current vendor terms before beginning a trial. Look for limits on generations, uploads, classes, exports, premium models, storage, and collaboration. Confirm whether the plan applies to an individual teacher, a school, or a district.
Keep those purchasing levels separate. An individual teacher option does not establish institution-wide availability, and a general report that a product has a free version does not settle district pricing or procurement terms. Current regional eligibility can also affect access, so use the terms for your location rather than an old third-party price.
Compatibility can matter more than feature count
Brisk illustrates why compatibility belongs near the top of the shortlist. It operates as a Google Chrome extension, according to Edutopia’s description. That is helpful when your source material already lives in Chrome, but it may rule the product out in a restricted or different browser environment.
Before choosing a tool, run a short workflow check:
- Can it operate in your school-approved browser and device environment?
- Does it work with the Google, Microsoft, presentation, or LMS process you already use?
- Can you export the result in a format you can edit and distribute?

The practical review goes further. Your school may need to know what data is collected, why it is collected, where it is retained, whether it is used for model training, which subprocessors receive it, how deletion works, and what age restrictions apply. It may also need to confirm whether educators can enter student work and whether students can create accounts.
Approval is use-specific. A tool approved for a teacher to draft a generic lesson may not automatically be approved for uploading identifiable student records. Keep the proposed data and workflow visible during the review instead of asking whether the product is “compliant” in the abstract.
Grounding helps, but it does not guarantee accuracy
